Where there is a fall of 1 metre or more, you can’t use fencing panels, it must be balustrade rated.
Frequently Asked Questions
A balustrade is intended to prevent a fall from a height (1 metre or more), where as a pool fence is designed to stop entry to a pool area. Due to this, the balustrade must be able to withstand a much greater force than that of a pool fence and is structural.

Cleaning is advised every 6 months, however, in coastal or industrial regions, cleaning every 3 months is recommended.
1.) Carefully remove any loose deposits with a wet sponge.
2.) Use a soft brush or cloth, and a mild household detergent solution to remove dust, salt and other deposits. DO NOT use steel wool, scrapers, scouring liquids or powders to remove deposits as these can permanently scratch the coating surface.
3.) Rinse off with clean fresh water and then wipe down with a soft cloth or microfibre cloth.
Note: For surfaces that have had prolonged contact, car polish with a mild cutting compound may be used with caution. It is recommended that a small area is tested prior to application.
Clean glass with a mild household detergent solution (as per cleaning your powder coated aluminium) and rinse with clean fresh water and then wipe down with a soft microfibre cloth.
Note: Avoid cleaning while glass is hot or in direct sunlight
The glass thickness that is required depends on the style of Balustrading. Whether this be frameless, semi frameless or fully framed balustrade. It also depends on the location of the building, location of the balustrade on the building and its load requirements.

Pool fencing needs to be a minimum of 1200mm. This is required when any body of water is deeper than 300mm. The maximum gap allowed is 100mm. This is both for the gap under the pool fence, and any gaps between balusters or panels of glass. There must be a gap of at least 900mm between any horizontal rails on the outside of the fence to stop climbing. All gates must be self closing and self latching.
